I like to highlight government agencies that are doing a good job of communication. I live with my family at the base of Sierra Nevada foothills, in a region just east of Sacramento referred to as the Western Slope. We are in an area extremely susceptible to wildfires and try and stay up on fire news.
I’ve been impressed with the level of information provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, CalFire. Seems that I’m definitely not the only one. Jeff Pelline who lives a little bit east of us and further up the mountain, writes about whe he sees that CalFire is doing well. Jeff knows of what he speaks when he writes about news distribution. he wrote for the San Francisco Chronicle for a long time and was one of the ofunding editors of CNET.
Read what Jeff has to say, and if you work for a government agency, check out CalFire and see how they use information distribution to try and save lives and property.
