Last Thursday, I was at an event where 16 early stage companies were presenting to prospective investors. Most of them talked about the potential market size, exit strategies and possible returns. One person didn’t. He got up and talked about helping people. He talked about his idea, which he said might make money, might now, but it’s a good idea. It’s a project called “one media player per teacher,” and it’s led by Matt York, founding publisher of Videomaker Magazine.
It’s impressive in its simplicity, and don’t bet against Matt.
As he was talking, I’m thinking, this sounds like a perfect fit for the the Omidyar Network, thing is I met Pierre Omidyar once, I believe in 2001 but can’t make the introduction. Can anyone make that intro?
