“Seems like the advertising and PR trades always carry the same names of client companies conducting agency searches. These ‘churn and burn’ clients hire and fire agencies as frequently as Major League Baseball teams do with their managers.”

Some clients seem to be ‘serial daters,’ in that they are always looking for the next new agency that will be ‘the right one.’ Since we often work with clients on relatively short term contracts, i.e. 3-6 months, you would think this wouldn’t be a problem. Nope, they just seem to compress the pain for us. Bottom line, use the rules and guidelines that Steve points out here, and Gillian and Pierre point out here, and life will be a lot better…for everyone.
