VC Adventure: Delivering bad news

VC Adventure: Delivering bad news

This is from Seth Levine’s blog, which I found through John Cook at the Seattle PI.

Seth says, ” my suggestion (strong preference, actually) is that the companies I work with be direct about news – good and bad.”

This works for external audiences as well. I’m not saying that companies should go out of their way to shout bad news from the mountaintops, but just remember that you can’t hide bad news forever, and if you try, it will be found out and the story usually ends up playing out for a whole lot longer and on terms that you will probably find are a whole lot worse.
