Death of a server

This was a great resource for pulling together the many voices that make up Sacramento’s nascent blogosphere. I hope John Hughes doesn’t let this get him down and brings back another great tool for the Sacramento area.

  1. I am mostly embarrassed that the server I ran was insecure enough to enable someone to delete entire directories in the web root.

Since my blog watching was all done in Google Reader I have not lost any of the raw material. But it is going to take more than a week to restore everything.

In the interim, I will be using http://ipsosacto.blogspot.com/ to keep people current on my progress.

If anyone has an immediate need to access the watch list of 287 local blogs, I can be contacted though the blogspot site.
