Keeping with the baseball analogies , Babe Ruth said, “Don’t let the fear of striking out, keep from you from playing the game.” A failure means you are one step closer to getting it right (that is, if you learn from it and don’t repeat that mistake).

You’re right, we’re not going to strike a homerun with each marketing idea or campaign we come up with, but each time, we come closer to knowing what we should do–and every once in a while, we do hit a home run.

It reminds me of the Disney movie “Meet the Robinsons” where the motto was “Keep moving forward.” It suggests that we keep going, keep trying, keep failing, and keep moving forward.

I thought fight club was the ednorton character thought tyler was real, but really he was tyler and was doing everything himself. If that’s the case then Cameron was actually doing and saying all that stuff and smoching Sloane and such. Isn’t fight club about inhibition and dual personalities? If you think about it, there aren’t too many “dude flick” plot motivators…

And there’s a reason writers don’t pull the “it’s all a dream” trick too often. It invalidates the story and detaches the reader. We already know it’s fiction. There’s no reason to make it less less real. Fight Club was different. Charlie Kaufman does it, but he’s good…

Anyway, that’s a sick house.

I see your point, but this seems like the news channel’s fault. The story is sort of a mess that way, the start talking about the consumer, then end up talking about the dealer. Either way, when you add a TV news or Newspaper editorial into the mix it’s hard to determine who’se screwing it up…
