I owe Bob Shallit at the Bee credit for this one. I hadn’t heard of SeeMeActive before I just read about them in his column.
In short, this looks like an iPhone app for capturing live stats at sporting events and sharing them with others. Their press release seems to focus on youth and high school football, but I could see this app being useful for anyone wanting to capture stats on the fly.
This would be an incredibly useful tool for newspapers and hyperlocal news outlets to capture high school scores on Friday nights.
I love the momentum I am seeing with local Sacramento startups. Just a few weeks I wrote about another new one, StudentAid.
This also supports another one of my theories that many, many little companies are in the area but don’t participate in the Sacramento startup “scene.”
