ioSafe is based in Auburn. They make hard drives that are basically set up to protect data from water and fire.
The CEO Robb Moore is a good guy that I have spoken with several times over the last few years. They’ve got some great demos and apparently just did one for Gizmodo (one of the top tech blogs) in Las Vegas at CES. Check out the complete write-up or just have fun with the picture of the flaming hard drive (that still worked!).
PR lessons to be learned here:
- Flames are cool
- Find a good way to show your product that cuts through the clutter while still demonstrating your strengths
- Make sure you don’t tell the people you are renting a house from what you are doing
